Chelsea Manasseri

Woman 2

Chelsea Manasseri is excited to be making her debut with Oh Dragon!, and couldn’t be happier to be performing her second Jason Robert Brown role this past year (the first having been Minola McKnight in Parade with The Ground Floor Theatre, December 2015.) Chelsea has been involved in the Austin theatre scene since 1999, and has performed with many local production companies, including The Gilbert & Sullivan Society, Half & Half Productions, Different Stages, The Baron’s Men, Renaissance Austin, and Austin Theatre Project. Some favorite roles include Mama Morton (Chicago; Half & Half Productions), lady in purple (for colored girls who have considered suicide…; UpRise Productions), poet/singer (Hands Up, Hoodies Down; Vortex Repertory Company), and Persephone (Persephone; Vortex Repertory Company.) Chelsea began studying music and vocal performance at the age of 12, and earned a BA in Musical Theatre Performance in 2009. In addition to being a singer and an actor, Chelsea is also a writer, an activist, a womanist, an occasional back-up vocalist for local band Vine House, a Vortex Repertory Company Member, and, overall, a lovely person. In addition to music and theatre, Chelsea also appreciates the music of Billie Holiday, the writings of Susanna Kaysen, and the beverages of Jack Daniels. Much love and endless gratitude to Dick and Donna for their constant love and support, and infinite Xs and Os to the fabulous company I’m fortunate enough to keep.
